John Mills Curtains and Blinds was formed in our present location at 79 High Street, Swadlincote in 1983 by John Mills. The company was first formed to sell curtains, tracks and accessories. The company expanded and had to build on the car park to accommodate expanding trade in made to measure curtains with all the accessories such as swags and tails, pelmets, valances of all shapes and sizes etc. In the early 1990’s blinds became more popular and they had to move with the times and they expanded their blinds selection to such an extent that they sell many different types such as Roman (made in house to your specification), roller, verticals, pleated, vision, perfect fit for conservatories, wooden, venetian and allusion, and as time passes there will be more according to fashion and trends.
We provide free quotations, home selection and advisory service as well as an expert fitting and installation service for all our blinds, curtains, poles, rails etc. John and Margaret officially retired in 2006, although as I am sure many of you know John is often seen “keeping his hand in”. John Mills Curtains and Blinds remains a family business with his son, Simon taking over the day to day running of the business. We still pride ourselves in offering an excellent range of curtains and blinds, serviced by friendly, professional and helpful staff providing an excellent service.
